The Bleed Air Contamination Simulator developed from the Fraunhofer Institut for building Physics should be presented in this film. Bleed Air is the fresh air taken from the aircraft engine and then mixed with cabin recirculation air usually at a 50 to 50 ratio to supply air to the passengers in the aircraft cabin. Under unfavorable conditions and in very rare cases, operating fluids such as engine oil, hydraulic oil or de-icing liquid may enter the bleed air supply for the cabin. Such failure cases we want to simulate and investigate at our Bleed Air Contamination Simulator.
